Job Description
Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan is seeking an experienced and professionally sound Unit Head – Risk Governance (AVP/VP) to strengthen its risk governance framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing risk governance and risk appetite frameworks, preparing comprehensive risk committee packs, monitoring governance requirements, and ensuring timely closure of inspection and audit observations. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent report-writing and communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate should have approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience in risk management, governance, risk appetite, audit, or related banking functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and strengthen the organization's Risk Governance Framework.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF).
- Prepare comprehensive Risk Committee packs, presentations, and management reports.
- Monitor risk governance activities and ensure alignment with approved policies and frameworks.
- Track inspection, audit, and regulatory observations through to timely closure.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address risk governance gaps and control weaknesses.
- Monitor implementation of risk-related policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
- Provide analytical insights to senior management and risk committees.
- Support effective risk escalation and reporting mechanisms.
- Maintain strong documentation and reporting standards for risk governance activities.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, regulators, and other relevant parties as required.
Candidate Profile
- 8–10 years of relevant professional experience in risk governance, enterprise risk management, banking risk, audit, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Risk Governance and Risk Appetite Frameworks.
- Experience in preparing Risk Committee packs and senior-management reports.
- Strong understanding of inspection, audit, and regulatory observation closure processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent report-writing and presentation abilities.
- Strong stakeholder-management and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Strong professional judgment, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Banking-sector experience, particularly within risk management, will be highly relevant.
