OPay Pakistan is seeking an experienced AML Transaction Monitoring Officer to join its Compliance & Financial Crime Compliance function in Lahore. The role will focus on monitoring, analyzing, and investigating customer and wallet transactions to identify unusual or potentially suspicious activity and ensure compliance with applicable AML/CFT requirements.
The successful candidate will work under the AML Manager / MLRO / Head of Compliance and contribute to transaction monitoring, alert investigation, suspicious transaction escalation, regulatory reporting, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement of AML monitoring processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems covering wallet activity, merchant payments, P2P transfers, and cross-border transactions.
Analyze transactional behavior against customer profiles, KYC levels, and EMI product limits.
Conduct detailed investigations using internal systems, customer information, and open-source intelligence.
Identify potentially suspicious transactions and escalate relevant cases to the MLRO.
Support the preparation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU).
Ensure compliance with SBP AML/CFT Regulations, EMI Regulations, and internal AML policies and procedures.
Support internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and SBP inspections.
Mentor junior officers and review alert dispositions.
Recommend improvements to transaction monitoring rules, scenarios, and thresholds.
Maintain accurate investigation documentation and case records.
Candidate Profile & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Master’s degree is preferred.
3–6 years of experience in AML transaction monitoring or financial crime investigations.
Experience in EMI, banking, fintech, or digital payments is preferred.
Strong analytical, investigative, documentation, and report-writing skills.
Understanding of EMI products, digital wallets, wallet limits, merchant models, P2P transactions, and digital payment risks.
Strong knowledge of AML/CFT principles and regulatory requirements.
CAMS, ICA, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Systems & Tools:
Transaction monitoring and AML systems such as Actimize, Oracle Mantas, Feedzai, or equivalent platforms.
EMI core platforms and data analytics tools.
Case management and regulatory reporting systems.
